Stevenage with Hybrid Working
At the IET, making our world a better place starts by creating a better place for our people.
At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible.
We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.
What you'll be doing
As our Project Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering projects that support the IET's transformation ambitions. Working across a varied portfolio of business and technology-enabled change initiatives, you'll lead projects from initial planning through to implementation and closure, ensuring they deliver meaningful and lasting outcomes for the organisation.
You'll work closely with sponsors, business leads, subject matter experts and external partners to define requirements, shape project plans and coordinate delivery activities. As projects progress, you'll ensure objectives remain clear, risks and dependencies are actively managed, and stakeholders have the information they need to make timely decisions.
This is a role that requires a balance of strong project management discipline and excellent people skills. You'll bring together colleagues from across the organisation, helping teams work collaboratively to overcome challenges, resolve issues and maintain momentum. You'll be comfortable managing multiple priorities while keeping sight of the bigger picture and the benefits each project is designed to achieve.
A key part of the role will involve supporting the successful adoption of change. Whether introducing new systems, processes or ways of working, you'll help ensure colleagues are engaged, informed and ready for implementation. Along the way, you'll provide clear reporting, facilitate discussions, and create the structure needed to support successful delivery.
What we hope you can bring to the role
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager with a track record of delivering projects through the full lifecycle, ideally across a mixture of business change and technology-enabled change initiatives.
You'll be confident creating robust plans, managing budgets and coordinating activity across diverse stakeholder groups. You'll understand how to identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies effectively, while adapting your approach to suit the needs of different projects and delivery environments.
Strong stakeholder management will be essential. You'll have experience building trusted relationships, facilitating productive conversations and bringing people together to make informed decisions. You'll also understand that successful project delivery is about more than completing tasks and milestones. It's about ensuring change is adopted and delivers the intended benefits.
Most importantly, you'll bring a collaborative, proactive and pragmatic approach, with the ability to create clarity, solve problems and help teams deliver successful outcomes.
