At the IET you’ll have more than just a job. Our work is exciting and challenging, connecting the people who solve the problems that matter. It means working with us has real meaning and impact, and you’ll grow – professionally and personally – in ways you never thought possible.

We’re also making significant investments in our people, including providing a modern, vibrant workplace and embracing hybrid working.

What you'll be doing

As a Junior Videographer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality video editing and production services that support the IET’s mission. Working closely with the IET.tv team, you’ll help create engaging multimedia content that highlights engineering achievements and enhances our impact. From editing and post-production to supporting live streaming and maintaining high production standards, you’ll contribute to a wide range of creative projects.

Your primary focus will be video editing, ensuring all content aligns with project briefs and quality requirements. You’ll assist in organising, editing, and refining video footage, performing basic colour grading and audio processing, and maintaining efficient post-production workflows. Additionally, you’ll support file management, footage preparation, and asset organisation to streamline the editing process.

While editing is the core of this role, you’ll also assist in capturing video content, operating cameras, lighting, and audio equipment as required. Whether working on multi-camera shoots, interviews, or live event streaming, you’ll ensure content is delivered to a high standard and meets project specifications.

If you have a passion for video editing and post-production, a keen eye for detail, and a willingness to learn, this role offers the perfect opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic, creative environment.

What we hope you can bring to the role

We’re looking for someone with a strong interest and experience in video editing, including an understanding of post-production workflows. Familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or similar video editing software) is highly desirable, along with the ability to follow standard editing techniques, colour correction, and sound design principles.

You’ll be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently within a structured editing process. Experience with file management, footage preparation, and maintaining organised project libraries will be a great advantage.

A flexible and customer-focused approach is essential, as you’ll sometimes need to work out of hours or travel for live event support. While filming and operating AV equipment will be part of the role, your editing skills and post-production expertise will be key to your success.

Your ability to collaborate effectively, communicate clearly, and remain adaptable will help you thrive in this role. A proactive mindset and enthusiasm for video editing, storytelling, and continuous learning will be invaluable as you grow within our team.

A little more about the role:

  • Edit and refine video content for promotional materials, conferences, and internal projects, ensuring all outputs meet IET.tv standards.
  • Organise and prepare footage, ensuring efficient file management and workflow optimisation.
  • Perform basic colour grading and audio processing to enhance video quality.
  • Follow established post-production workflows and quality control processes.
  • Assist with capturing, recording, and streaming video content from IET and third-party venues when needed.
  • Support the use of recording equipment, including Tricasters, for live and pre-recorded interviews and presentations.
  • Help maintain and troubleshoot video production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor and assist with live streaming events, ensuring smooth delivery and recording.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to produce high-quality video content.

A little more about what we’re looking for:

  • Strong passion for video editing and post-production, with some experience in video storytelling, cutting footage, and refining content.
  • Experience using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or similar editing software).
  • Basic understanding of colour correction, sound design, and motion graphics.
  • Ability to organise and manage footage, ensuring a streamlined editing workflow.
  • Familiarity with AV equipment and filming (desirable but secondary to editing skills).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured editing guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours and travel for live event support.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

If you’re eager to develop your skills in editing, video production and live streaming, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to impactful projects at the IET.
